JLP makes our facilities available to community groups including quilters, the Society for Creative Anachronism, and twelve-step recovery programs. Looking for a place to meet? Call or email the office.
JLP supports the Anchorage HUGGS program (Helping Us Give School Supplies). Sand Lake Elementary parents park in our parking lot throughout the year. We also partner with schools to help with food donations when needed, and identify families to support at Christmas.
JLP members volunteer at the mobile food banks operated by the Alaska Food Bank. We also support the Lutheran Social Services Alaska (LSSA) food pantry, Clare House and the Brother Francis Shelter with volunteers and contributions of food and financial support.
JLP work parties pick up trash on Northwood Drive between Strawberry and Raspberry Road during the summer months. We also maintain the bus stop adjacent to our property. Neighborhood youth frequently come by to use the basketball hoop in our parking lot.
