VINE class – condensed format

To accommodate the greatest number of participants, the VINE Foundational Class scheduled for August 20 will proceed as planned, but in a condensed format.

Normally, the VINE class includes table fellowship so participants can get to know one another around a shared meal. At the request of several participants with schedule conflicts, we will abbreviate the August 20 presentation by omitting the meal and condensing the materials. The class will still begin at 3 p.m. but it will conclude shortly after 5 p.m.

VINE Foundational Class

God designed you to be part of a church family. That’s what JLP is supposed to be: your family. We want to share with you what we believe and where we’re going.

In the VINE Foundational Class we will discuss:

  • God’s mission in the world, and how it translates to our own mission here in Anchorage to help people trust Jesus for a better life.
  • JLP’s history, how we’re organized as a congregation, how we relate to two denominations.
  • Why we need to be part of a church family, and what it means to be a member.

  • If you’re new to church.  Everyone is welcome, and no previous Bible knowledge or church experience is required.
  • If you’re new to JLP. This class is designed to prepare people for JLP membership, but you may participate in the class without becoming a member.
  • If you’re not new to JLP. People who are already members are encouraged to attend. This is especially true for people who’ve been attending awhile but never attended a class like this. (Or did, but forgot what you learned!)

Dinner will be provided. Child care can be arranged. If you plan to attend, please sign up, so we’ll have sufficient materials on hand and can make child care available.

VINE is the first in a four-part series of classes for people in the JLP church community. The second class in the series will take place in September.
