Christmas Eve Service 7 p.m.

Come celebrate Christmas Eve with us at our service at 7:00 p.m!

We’ll sing traditional carols and read the Christmas story from Luke’s account of the Good News. (And yes, we have materials to keep kids interested.) Pastor Luke will bring a Christmas message about “Peace on Earth,” and we’ll end with singing by candles outdoors.

Everyone’s welcome, so bring a friend! Directions are available on our main web page along with other information.

Food Pantry Christmas Cookies

JLP will be providing cookies at Christmas-time to guests of our neighborhood food pantry. Can you bake some and contribute them to the effort?

For the past several years, we have provided cookies for guests of the Mobile Food Pantry held on Saturday mornings at Jewel Lake Community Church of the Nazarene on 88th St. near Jewel Lake. This year, the Mobile Food Pantry distribution has been moved to Friday afternoon, December 22.

If you’d like to be part of this annual tradition, please sign up for however many cookies you can contribute, and have them ready for packing by Thursday, December 21, at 4 pm.If you could please label your cookies that have nuts and the ones that don’t that would be great.

Brother Francis Gift Wrapping

The youth of JLP will wrap gifts at Brother Francis Shelter on Saturday, December 23. JLP is contributing socks, but other churches and civic organizations from across the city will be contributing hats, gloves, and other small items needed by homeless people. Once wrapped, the gifts will be distributed to guests of the shelter on Christmas Eve and the night of Christmas Day.

After wrapping presents, we will get pizza and see a movie. JLP youth are welcome to invite friends to be part of this event.

Note #1: Parking at the shelter is limited, so please try to car-pool. We’ll gather at the JLP parking lot about 10:30 a.m.

NOTE #2: participants (including guests) need signed permission slips, so please pick one up in time to join us!
