You can help make a difference for some of our neediest neighbors. It’s easy and hands-on, without any long-term commitment, sign-ups, or other hassles! In cooperation with other churches in our neighborhood, we are helping with the Alaska Food Bank’s mobile food pantry:
- Saturdays / Sand Lake: 9–11 am every Saturday morning at Jewel Lake Nazarene Church, 4025 W. 88th St., near the Holiday station.
- Tuesdays / Turnagain: 4:30–6:30 pm every Tuesday afternoons at Hope Lutheran Church, 1847 W. Northern Lights, across from Carr’s.
- (Third Thursdays only) 4:30–6:30 pm every third Thursday at Crosspoint Church, 1920 W. Dimond Blvd. (behind Joanne Fabrics in the Fred Meyers / Burlington shopping center).
In a typical week, each Mobile Food Pantry serves about 120 individuals. On average, each individual’s household receives up to 30–40 lbs. of food. The typical household has just under 4 individuals, and about 80% of households have children or seniors.
